About the Topic:Ear infections are a very painful condition common in childhood. Research has shown that ear infections may be caused by improper drainage of the deep neck lymphatics. When a doctor looks inside your child's ear, they will see a build up of fluid behind the ear drum or tympanic membrane. This fluid is a place where a virus or bacteria can reproduce and cause an infection. Increased muscle tone or spasm appear to be a major factor of this reduced lymph drainage.
Chiropractic adjustments applied to the neck restores normal movement of the bones of the spine and normal function of the nerves that exit in-between the bones. This will reduce or eliminate tight neck muscles responsible for blocking normal drainage of lymph fluid. Once normal drainage is restored, the infection can heal and this reduces the recurrence of ear infections.
A major benefit of having chiropractic adjustments is an increased immunity. The adjustment removes nerve irritation, allowing the nervous system to function properly.
